Algorithm-Rich Description
Beautiful vintage Order of the Rainbow for Girls Merit Award featuring a complete-looking ladder of seven colorful enameled SERVICE bars suspended beneath the gold-tone “ORDER OF THE RAINBOW MERIT AWARD” header.
The seven bars progress through rainbow colors—red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue/purple and violet/pink—and terminate in the distinctive Pot of Gold drop.
This configuration has real significance: historical material from the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library explains that members earned seven colored bars through participation and service, and after earning all seven, received the Pot of Gold charm. The seven bars and Pot of Gold together were displayed on the Merit Award pin.
Your example is therefore especially attractive because it retains the seven service bars and Pot of Gold together rather than being an incomplete single- or partial-bar award.
Approximate size: about 4½ inches long, based on the ruler photograph.
Features: gold-tone metal construction; seven individually linked enamel SERVICE bars; articulated/dangling ladder design; Pot of Gold bottom award; vintage Masonic-youth/fraternal collectible; and original age-related patina and wear visible in the photographs.
Condition
Vintage pre-owned condition. Displays age-appropriate surface wear, patina, discoloration and minor enamel wear consistent with an older award. The individual links and seven service bars are present, along with the Pot of Gold drop. Please examine all photographs closely, as they are an important part of the condition description.
I would not advertise the metal as solid gold or gold-filled unless a hallmark is found confirming it.

Humorous Description
Some people chase the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Apparently, a dedicated Rainbow Girl could earn her way there one SERVICE bar at a time.
Seven bars later—there it is. 🌈
No leprechaun required.
