Vintage Norton Grinding Wheel manufactured by Norton Grinding Wheel Co., Worcester, Massachusetts.Measures approximately 6\" in diameter and 1-1/2\" thick.Center has an approximately 1\" metal reducer/bushing with an approximately 1/2\" arbor opening.Features an early Norton paper label with the distinctive chain-border design and numerous U.S. patent numbers printed along the bottom.Faded original factory markings remain visible on the opposite side. One marking appears to read \"A280.\" A second specification marking is only partially legible and appears to begin \"B 8 R...\" The remaining characters cannot be confirmed, so please review the close-up photos.Condition is exactly as shown, with age, discoloration, surface wear, label wear and residue consistent with an old industrial abrasive wheel. The original label has substantial wear but the Norton name, Worcester, Mass. location, chain design and portions of the patent information remain visible.Because of the age and unknown storage/use history of this wheel, it is being offered as a vintage Norton industrial collectible/display piece.
