Vintage Nikon N5005 SLR Zoom Outfit Promotional Coffee Mug — New Old Stock / Unused
A wonderfully period-specific piece of vintage Nikon advertising memorabilia.
This original promotional coffee mug features artwork for “The Nikon N5005 SLR Zoom Outfit,” reproducing a colorful period promotional display for Nikon’s N5005 autofocus 35mm camera system.
Rather than simply carrying a Nikon logo, the mug captures an entire little slice of camera-store history—the N5005 outfit presented as it would have been marketed when the camera was new.

There is something particularly charming about this piece because the artwork isn’t generic Nikon branding.
It’s an advertisement for a specific camera outfit at a specific moment in Nikon history.
The N5005 belonged to the generation when autofocus was transforming the 35mm SLR market, and Nikon was introducing a new generation of photographers to cameras that looked and operated very differently from the mechanical Nikon F and Nikkormat systems that came before them.
This mug preserves that transition in an unlikely place.
What was once an ordinary promotional object sitting on someone’s desk has become a small piece of Nikon advertising history—complete with the colors, product photography and merchandising style of the period.
