Vintage Navajo hand-loomed wool four figure Yei pictorial rug. Measuring 46 x 77 inches long, this textile is a masterpiece of Southwestern Native American fiber art.
This weaving features a rich, vibrant aniline red field beautifully populated with three large, highly detailed Yei (holy figure/deity) motifs arranged horizontally. The figures are meticulously woven with complex geometric robes, feathers, bows, and cornstalk accents utilizing a brilliant spectrum of multi-colored handspun wools. The entire layout is cleanly enclosed by a solid handspun black outer framing border.
