Vintage Navajo Corn Yei Rug Nancy White:

This Navajo rug depicting female Corn Yei figures actually measures 27" wide x 25" high. It comes with the original tag that identifies it as being from the Lukachukai area in Northeastern Arizona and woven by Nancy White.
The rug was woven using handspun wool, commercial dyes and a blended natural or vegetal dyed background. A close look reveals that the maker wove in very subtle groups of single lines under each Corn Yei possibly to represent roots or rain (photos 7 and 8). A Rainbow or Rainbow Guardian Yei protects them on three sides.
Weavings like this depict elements found in sand paintings used in medicinal ceremonies but the rug itself has no religious significance.P -77
