This button came from the uniform items of a former NYPD police officer.
The front features the traditional New York City coat of arms with the inscription “Sigillum Civitatis Novi Eboraci” and 1664 beneath the seal. The reverse has a shank-style attachment and is stamped “SUPERIOR QUALITY.”
The 1664 date is part of the historic New York City seal design and is not the manufacturing date of the button.
