Provenance / HistoryThis item wasdiscovered at the former location ofStandard Supply Co. of Forestport, NY—a long-established giftware supplier founded in 1912. For decades, Standard Supply Co. provided Adirondack souvenirs, postcards, balsam pillows, ceramics, and novelty gift merchandise throughout the region.
The business closed in2002, leaving behind shelves of untouched inventory. When the property changed hands 23 years ago, the new owners inherited all remaining stock, much of which had been sitting undisturbed in the downstairs level of the old gift shop. These figurines were recently uncovered during a clean-out of that lower-level storage area, where many decades-old deadstock items were still neatly stored on back shelves.
