Vintage NORLEANShandpainted wildlife wall plate 8”D
Description: This is a vintage hand-painted porcelaindecorative wall plate featuring a bird on a flowering branch with a pierced,scalloped edge and gold trim. The plate is made of porcelain and wasproduced in Japan by the company NORLEANS in the 1950's. The open, lacyperimeter (or reticulated edge) of the plates are painted in a soft gold.
The bird painted on the plate appears to be a towhee. Thetowhee symbolizes grounding, resourcefulness, and unearthing hidden truths. Theysymbolize finding harmony between everyday responsibilities and spiritualpeace.
Pre drill factory holes onthe back rim allow owners to run a wire or cord through the back so the platecould serve as hanging wall decor. This plate is already to hang.
Dimensions: approximately8” diameter.
Maker’s Mark:
Condition: EXCELLENT: No obvious flaws. Close to new condition. Noutensil marks, chips, cracks, scratches, crazing or staining.
