Vintage NASA Ames Research Center space exploration artwork depicting Jupiter as viewed from its small inner moon, Amalthea.
Lot includes 2 illustrated color prints featuring a dramatic view of Jupiter's Great Red Spot, the rocky surface of Amalthea, and the surrounding stars.
The artwork bears the artist's signature "Eudice" in the lower-right corner.
Accompanying the two prints is a vintage NASA Ames Research Center press caption sheet issued from Moffett Field, California.
The NASA caption reads:
"Artist's concept of Jupiter as seen from its fast-orbiting tiny inner moon Amalthea. The planet's great red spot (foreground) is believed a 20,000-mile-long, several hundred-year-old hurricane."
The caption sheet features NASA Ames Research Center letterhead, NASA News insignia, and a "For Release: immediate" designation.
An interesting example of vintage NASA planetary illustration and space exploration publicity material.
Includes 2 color prints and 1 accompanying NASA press caption sheet.
The prints exhibit light handling wear and minor edge curling consistent with age.
