Vintage Museum MPI Reproduction Malvina Hoffman Bronze Siamese Cat Statue Kiki For Sale

Museum Pieces Inc. cat statue. Nice majestic pose with tail wrapped around the feline\'s left side. Bronzed color finish to the figurine. At the back of the statue near the base is incised what looks to say \" Hoffman\" and a copyright symbol with \"MPI\". Limited research shows the original this was licensed for reproduction from was likely a sculpture by the artist Malvina Hoffman who was known for her expressive figurative animal sculptures. Sources state the cat was known as Kiki the Cat. Originals were cast from bronze. This piece looks to be a composite ceramic or plaster and has a nice weight to it. About 8.5\" tall with the base being about 4.75\" by 3.5\" wide. Original felt covered bottom with original foil label marked Copyrighted Reproduction of the Original Made by Museum Pieces Inc. New York. Pre-owned with patina; some touch-ups to flaws on the ears, front and back; and signs of age. Please ask any questions. See photos included as part of description.
