Vintage WW2 period Huet 12x50 binoculars. Markings are: Huet 12x50, Milliemes, the Huet logo, the letters MA and no.103. I believe the MA refers to the French military and the #103 would appear to be a very low serial number. These binoculars also have an unusual attachment that connects the eyepiece adjustment as you widen the eyepiece distance. I am not sure how this eyepiece coupling feature actually works, but it seems unusual and does work smoothly as you pull the binoculars to different angles.
They are very solid and heavy and extremely well made with very high quality optics that are very clear and aligned. No damage to the glass and these still have a somewhat faint military ranging scale present in the right lens that is adjusted by a thumb lever. These optics are extremely clear and unblemished that produces a very impressive view. They have the extendable lens hoods that are still operable. The very old finish has some painted areas with some residual leather covering still intact in areas.
Brass eye cups remain on individually focusing eyepieces that move to focus very smoothly. There is no case included. These old binoculars are indeed authentic and very vintage, but are in extremely good condition. These binoculars are about 10” tall and have lots of history but with perfect viewing also. I have other Huet military binoculars listed also. Shipping is by Priority USPS Flat Rate box but let me know if buyer wishes for a less expensive shipping.
