Vintage Mid-Century Middle Eastern Brass Aftaba Ewer with Zodiac Medallions 12" For Sale

Beautiful, artisan-crafted vintage Middle Eastern/Persian style brass decorative ewer (aftaba pitcher) standing exactly 12 inches tall. This striking statement piece is heavily modeled after historic 12th-to-13th century Khurasan metalwork, combining classic Islamic design with a wonderful mid-century bohemian aesthetic appeal that makes it perfect for a mantel, bookshelf, or tabletop display. The vessel is adorned with prominent applied circular medallions around its midpoint depicting detailed animal iconography—including a stylized bull representing the Taurus zodiac symbol—surrounded by hand-etched horizontal borders and raised repoussé panels highlighting intricate scrolling floral and heart motifs. Reflecting its traditional workshop assembly, the piece features authentic hand-brazed lead/silver soldering connections at the handle joint and base rim, while the interior base displays the clear concentric lathe-turning marks typical of mid-century export metalware. It is in good vintage condition with a beautiful, authentic aged patina, showing minor oxidation marks, surface spots, and vintage character wear as pictured, including some dried white polishing compound residue in the deep crevices of the base lathe-lines from previous cleanings. There are no major dents or structural breaks, the handle is securely attached, and the item will be packed securely and shipped promptly. Please review all close-up photographs for a complete look at the hand-soldered details, patina, and overall condition.
