Few souvenirs capture the wonderfully eccentric side of Mexican folk art quite like the famous taxidermy frogs posed in miniature human activities. Sometimes depicted playing instruments, enjoying a drink, or participating in everyday scenes, these unusual creations became memorable curiosities for travelers and collectors of offbeat Americana. This vintage-style Mexican taxidermy frog is posed as a harpist, standing upright beside a miniature wooden harp with delicate strings and a graceful curved top. Equal parts whimsical, peculiar, and nostalgic, it is the sort of conversation piece that feels right at home in a cabinet of curiosities, eclectic antique collection, or display of unusual folk art.

Measuring approximately 7 inches tall, this taxidermy frog figurine features a preserved frog positioned beside a miniature wooden harp on a rectangular wooden base. The piece is in significantly distressed condition, with substantial deterioration to the preserved frog, including cracking, splitting, separation around the legs and joints, and visible damage around the arm and shoulder area. One arm appears to be supported or reattached with a visible wire, and the preserved material around that connection is torn and deteriorated. Additional wear, discoloration, surface irregularities, and fragile areas are present throughout. The wooden harp remains attached to the base and retains its strings, although their condition and tension have not been tested.
