Beautiful vintage Japanese glazed ceramic vase bearing the Meitō 明陶 mark on the underside.
This elegant 11-inch vase features a richly detailed pair of peacocks surrounded by pink sakura blossoms and colorful peonies. The design is enhanced with beautifully preserved gold accents over a warm ivory crackle-glaze ground, with a deep rust-red decorative border around the base.
In traditional Japanese art, peacocks symbolize wisdom, protection, and prosperity, while sakura blossoms represent renewal and the fleeting beauty of life. Peonies are associated with wealth, honor, and high status. Together, these motifs create a richly auspicious composition.
