A rare opportunity to own an unusual vintage McCoy Happy Face (Smiley Face) cookie jar featuring what appears to be a genuine factory decoration error.
Unlike standard production examples, this jar left the factory without the black-painted eyes. It also has an unusual brown under-glaze mark on the left side of the face that appears to have occurred during the manufacturing process. The molded eye depressions are present, indicating the decoration step was simply never completed.
