This is a complete, authentic vintage "Hand Lead" sounding kit used by fishermen and sailors to manually check ocean depths and map the seabed before modern sonar.Most of these are found as bare metal weights, making this exceptionally rare because it includes the original tightly coiled rope, complete with its vintage factory tags including a prominent "Neptune" brand tag.Key Features:Total Weight: Approximately 5lbs (not including the heavy-duty vintage line, another 4 lbs).Lead Dimensions: ~6 inches long and roughly 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter.The "Star" Tallow Cup: The bottom of the lead features a hollowed-out star design.
