A beautiful vintage Madonna and Child statue displayed within a tall, pointed wooden niche, full of old-world character and devotional charm. The softly aged finish, muted blue and rose tones, gold-toned halos, and warm wood surround give this piece the wonderful timeworn appearance that makes vintage religious art so special.
The dimensional figure depicts the Virgin Mary holding the infant Jesus, with both figures accented by radiating halos. The statue appears to be chalk/plaster or a similar composition material and is mounted against a solid wood architectural-style backing. The pointed form of the niche gives the piece a lovely Gothic-inspired silhouette.
At approximately 16 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide at the base, this is substantial enough to make a beautiful focal point without overwhelming a space. It would be especially lovely displayed on a mantel, antique cabinet, prayer table, bookshelf, or as part of a collected gallery of vintage sacred art.

ConditionThis is a vintage piece with visible age, patina, surface wear, chipping and imperfections consistent with an older devotional item. The aged finish is part of its character and gives the statue a wonderful collected-over-time appearance. The piece could benefit from additional detailed cleaning if desired; I have left the vintage character intact rather than over-cleaning it.
