A set of four vintage, Japanese-made, hand-painted ceramic/tile wall plaques.
Each framed, elongated plaque depicts a traditional Japanese landscape featuring mountains, trees, temples, bridges, bodies of water, boats, and scenery representing the four seasons. The artwork bears a Japanese inscription and a red seal.
The backs retain their original labels, marked "PAT. NO. 492647 – MADE IN JAPAN" and "CDGC Hand Decorated Quality Imports Japan," respectively.
Each piece measures approximately 19 inches (48 cm) in height and 4 inches (10 cm) in width. They come in their original black wooden frames, accented with an inner gold border, and include hanging hardware.
Sold as a complete set (four pieces).
Condition: Vintage, pre-owned items showing signs of age and use. The black wooden frames exhibit scratches, scuffs, minor nicks, and areas of finish loss. Two of the tiles feature a noticeable horizontal crack (please refer to the close-up photos). There may be other minor surface wear. Please carefully examine all photos, as they are an integral part of the condition description.
This is a distinctive set of vintage Japanese-style (Mid-Century Modern era) decorative wall art.
