Vintage mid-century flush mount ceiling light fixture with a wonderful combination of decorative perforated metal, frosted glass, and floral detailing.
The cylindrical outer shade features a repeating pierced circular pattern over a cream-colored inner diffuser, giving the fixture a distinctive atomic-era look. The bottom has a round frosted glass diffuser decorated with radiating dotted lines, finished with a dimensional metal flower at the center. The combination of pierced metalwork, frosted glass, and stylized floral ornament gives this fixture a great 1950s–1960s Mid-Century Modern appearance with a slight Hollywood Regency influence.
The fixture measures approximately 7\" in diameter and about 5\" tall from the upper housing to the bottom of the floral finial.
The original ceramic light socket is present along with the threaded center mounting rod and wiring. The wiring is older and should be inspected and/or replaced by a qualified person prior to installation.
There is age-related wear throughout, including finish loss, discoloration, oxidation, surface marks, and areas of staining to the inner diffuser material. The metal flower shows finish wear and small areas of surface rust. The frosted glass diffuser remains attractive and displays nicely.
I have two matching fixtures available. This listing is for ONE fixture only. If purchasing more than one, select the desired quantity while available. The two are similar in condition, with normal individual variations from age and use.
These would be excellent for a vintage kitchen, hallway, bedroom, bathroom, entryway, cottage, retro renovation, or Mid-Century Modern interior. Their compact size also makes them particularly useful where a low-profile ceiling fixture is needed.
A charming survivor from the mid-century lighting era, with just enough age and wear to give it the character that modern reproductions rarely capture.
