Striking oversized vintage Mid-Century Modern ceramic table lamp featuring an exceptional multi-layered abstract glaze.
The large sculptural ceramic body has a classic elongated ovoid / bottle form finished in vivid avocado and chartreuse green with deep olive, brown and bronze-toned abstract areas.What makes this lamp particularly special is the glaze treatment. The bronze/gold-toned areas have an unusually fine speckled appearance that creates the visual impression of a metallic surface, while contrasting dark reactive borders, vertical movement and flowing glaze patterns give the lamp tremendous depth. The design changes substantially as the lamp is viewed from different sides.A substantial black metal base and antique brass neck provide a strong contrast to the brilliant ceramic body.
