Large Vintage Luxembourg Flag – Traditional Sewn Construction – Approx. 157 x 94cm
A large original vintage Luxembourg national flag, measuring approximately 157 x 94cm (around 5ft 2in x 3ft 1in).
The flag features the traditional Luxembourg red, white and light blue horizontal tricolour and is made from three separately sewn fabric panels rather than being a modern printed flag.
It has a substantial white canvas hoist and appears to be an older quality-made maritime / ceremonial flag.
There are no maker’s labels or dated markings that I can find, although the hoist carries a small handwritten “11”, which may have been an old stores or inventory reference.
This flag came from a larger collection of vintage national and naval signal flags, several of which carry Royal Navy, dockyard and British flag-maker markings. I cannot confirm that this particular flag was Royal Navy issued, so it is being described simply as a vintage maritime / national flag.
Condition
The flag is in genuine used vintage condition and has not been cleaned or restored.
There is general age-related wear, marking, staining and discolouration, particularly to the white section and canvas hoist, together with some creasing and minor signs of use. There is some dirt on the rear of the flag, but should wash out. See photos.

Despite its age and use, the colours remain strong and the traditional sewn-panel construction gives it considerably more character than a modern printed flag.
