This cat looks likeit has just spotted something moving across the floor and has approximately halfa second remaining before all hell breaks loose.
And that\'s preciselywhat makes Playful Cat such a fun little Lladró.
The sculptorcaptured the kitten in a wonderfully animated play-bow pose—front pawsstretched forward, hindquarters in the air, tail standing high and curved aboveits back. The expression completes it: wide attentive eyes, ears forward andmouth slightly open as though whatever caught its attention is about to have avery bad afternoon.

The modeling isespecially good on this one. Rather than a static seated cat, the entiresculpture has movement—the lowered shoulders, outstretched paws, raised rearlegs and exaggerated upright tail make it look as though the kitten couldspring forward at any moment.
The soft tancoloration against Lladró\'s glossy pale porcelain keeps it unmistakably Lladrówhile giving the piece enough warmth and expression to make it a particularlyappealing animal figure.
This example is alsoin excellent vintage condition. I find no chips, cracks, crazing, orrepairs, and the glossy glaze remains bright throughout. The underside/backarea retains the clearly visible authentic Lladró blue factory backstamp alongwith its incised markings and factory vent hole, all of which have beenphotographed in detail.
For a Lladrócollector, cat lover, Spanish porcelain collection or animal figurine display,this is an especially charming retired design—and considerably moreentertaining than a cat that simply agreed to sit still.
