This is an ultra-rare, vintage Leatherman multi-tool believed to be issued by the California Correctional Authority (CCA)—most likely tied to the California Youth Authority, a division that operated high-security juvenile facilities during the late 20th century.

Stamped “CCA”, this tool may have belonged to a state corrections officer, facility technician, or a state-contracted employee. Tools like this were never sold to the public, making it a rare survivor from the era of state-issued gear.

Why This is Special:

• Authentic “CCA” engraved stainless steel body

• One of the original, early-generation Leatherman models

• Possible connection to California Youth Authority

• Tool is fully functional with classic tight Leatherman build quality

• Tiny bit of patina (see photos) adds character and confirms age

• Stainless steel construction – polishes up beautifully, but current condition was preserved to maintain the integrity of the markings

• Comes with the original sheath – rare on its own! (Note: belt loop is loose)
