Vintage Large 18-Inch Chinese Etched Brass Wall Hanging Platter / Charger Tray
Up for sale is a beautiful, heavy vintage Asian brass charger plate tray. Measuring 18 inches in diameter, this stunning piece features an intricately etched and chased design depicting traditional symbols of luck, longevity, and prosperity.
Design Elements:
• Central \"Fu\" Character (福): The middle of the tray features the prominent Chinese character for good fortune, blessing, and happiness.
• Four Auspicious Animal Roundels: Surrounding the center are beautifully detailed vignettes of an Elephant (power and wisdom), a Crane (longevity), a Deer (wealth/prosperity), and a Bird nestled in floral branches.
• Decorative Borders: The outer bands are meticulously stamped with geometric patterns and repetitive stylized leaf icons leading up to a classic pie-crust/scalloped outer rim.
Display Features:
The back of the platter is equipped with a securely attached triangular metal hanger ring, making it incredibly easy to hang directly onto your living room, dining room, or hallway wall as a striking statement piece.
Condition:
Pre-owned in very good vintage condition. The brass exhibits a gorgeous, natural aged patina with dark shading in the recessed engraving lines that beautifully makes the artwork pop. There are some light surface spots, minor tarnish, and expected signs of handling consistent with age on both the front and back sides (please see all photos). No major dents or structural warps.
