Acquired from a private Black Hills, South Dakota estate, this vintage Lakota medallion is a stellar example of authentic reservation era regalia.
This 3 inch rosette features a masterfully tensioned geometric morning star motif in deep blue, white, red, and orange seed beads, finished with five traditional looped bead fringes.
The medallion is backed with a thick authentic rough animal hide, confirming its traditional indigenous craftsmanship and durability.
The rosette is suspended from a dual strand woven seed bead neck strap in alternating blue and white blocks.
