Stunning set of handmade Italian point de Venice lace in floral designs. This listing is for 11 pieces. A long 40 inch table centerpiece runner and 10 place setting. A rare set of treasures from Italy circa 1940-50"s or perhaps earlier. From a huge collection by a couple who traveled everywhere in the 1950's. I believe one of the flowers is called Alum Italia. This is an antique linen handmade elaborate! Point de Venice lace set. Freshly hand washed and ironed by me. And let me tell you that was hours. Beautiful work. I have stored in lavender for you. A few darkened areas. Mostly excellent condition.
This is elegant old school hand made Italian lace like they do not make anymore. The TABLE Runner is 40 inches by 15 inches wide. 10 Placemats are 16 inches by 10 1/2 inches. Linen with Cutwork inserts needle lace and pointed laced edges.
Condition is very good despite its age, few light stains, few loosened threads. From an amazing cache of linens from a couple who traveled widely and seem to collect linens from all over the world in the 1940-1960's.
