Vintage Japanese Jūbako Lacquerware – 10-Tier Stacking Boxes with Floral Maki-e
This is a beautiful vintage Japanese Jūbako (重箱) lacquerware set, featuring elegant floral gold Maki-e decoration on traditional wooden stacking boxes.
The set consists of two separate 5-tier Jūbako sets, for a total of 10 stacking boxes. Each box is crafted in the traditional Japanese lacquerware style and decorated with delicate floral motifs in shimmering gold Maki-e, creating an elegant contrast against the lacquered surface.
Jūbako are traditional Japanese tiered stacking boxes historically used for serving and presenting food, particularly during celebrations, seasonal gatherings, and special occasions. Their stackable design also makes them practical for compact storage.
This set comes with its original wooden storage boxes, adding to its appeal as a collectible example of traditional Japanese lacquerware.
The combination of traditional craftsmanship, floral Maki-e decoration, and the complete multi-tier configuration makes this an attractive piece for collectors of Japanese antiques, lacquerware, and traditional decorative arts.Size:length: 17 cmWidth: 17 cmHeight: 20 cm
