New Old Stock set of 5 vintage Japanese yunomi (tea cups) in a Kohiki
glaze with shirohake (brushed white slip) decoration - a traditional
Mino ware (Gifu Prefecture) technique prized for its warm, hand-thrown
character and the way the iron-bearing clay body shows through the milky
white glaze in soft brown-grey clouds.
This set was retailed through Matsuzakaya, one of Japan's oldest and most
respected department stores, under the TOHSAI (陶彩) ceramics label -
original retail tags and item numbers are still present on the box.
Never used, each cup remains individually wrapped in its original cloth
as packed at the factory.
Presented in the original kiribako (paulownia wood) presentation box,
brush-inscribed with the contents and kiln name, with a red seal.
Vintage, believed produced circa 1970s-1990s based on the retail
packaging style.
Condition: New/unused, straight from original packaging. Please see
photos for full detail of box, tags, and cups.
We are not appraisers and do not authenticate; buyers are encouraged to

SHIPPING: Calculated/buyer-paid, cups will be individually wrapped and
boxed securely.
