Vintage Japanese Banko ware multi-face teapot, likely dating from the early to mid-20th century (Meiji to Taisho 1/2” spout to edge, or Showa period), featuring hand-painted relief faces representing the Seven Lucky Gods or various folkloric characters, with lid and pouring handle.
Material & Style: Molded earthenware/bisque ceramic with colorful hand-painted glazes and a woven bamboo-wrapped swing handle.
Design Features: Decorated with multiple expressive facial reliefs sculpted around the body and on the lid, characteristic of Banko whimsical or character pottery.
Measures 5-1/2” wide including spout, 4” in diameter and 6” high to the top of the handle.
