Vintage Japan Salt and Pepper Shakers, Bearded Elf Bass Player and Robin Hood Style Archer
Two hand-painted mid-century characters full of storybook charm. One is a jolly white-bearded elf in a red hooded cloak, eyes closed as he plays a big upright bass. The other is a young archer in a feathered cap, kneeling on a stump with his bow and a quiver of arrows on his back.
The color and detail are wonderful: rich burgundy, sunny yellow, bright green, and deep blue, with painted faces and sculpted texture on the grass, stump, and quiver. They\'re a fun find for salt and pepper shaker collectors, gnome and elf lovers, music-themed collections, or a whimsical vintage kitchen shelf.

CONDITION- Small chip at the tip of the archer\'s yellow feather (see photos)- Light crazing in the glaze on both, typical for their age- Normal age wear on the unglazed bottom rims- No other chips or cracks found- These two appear to be different characters and may not be an original matched set, though they share the same maker\'s mark, glaze, and corks
