CONDITION

Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related glaze crazing and light surface wear. The tip of the raised finger is chipped/broken, as clearly shown in the photos. Bottom stopper is not present. Original JAPAN foil label remains attached. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition.

DESCRIPTION

Vintage “Help the Cause” monk/friar ceramic coin bank featuring a smiling monk dressed in a matte black robe with a white rope belt, sandals and raised finger.

This bank matches examples identified as the Brother Juniper design dating to approximately 1958. The bottom retains its original red and white JAPAN foil label and is marked 8938.

The front reads:

“Help the Cause”

Features include a coin slot on the upper back and an access opening on the bottom. The original bottom stopper is not included.
