Vintage J.R.R. Tolkien Middle-earth Framed Art Print Set – Moria Gate & Bilbo’s Journey Map
Wonderful vintage set of two framed J.R.R. Tolkien / Middle-earth collectible prints, presented in coordinating wood-tone frames with muted blue-gray matting.
The set includes:
• “There and Back: A Map of Bilbo’s Journey Through Eriador and Rhovanion”
A beautifully detailed Middle-earth map depicting Bilbo’s journey, with illustrated locations and decorative scenes throughout. The lower attribution reads: “Design J. R. R. Tolkien, Pauline Baynes. © George Allen & Unwin, Ltd., 1971.”
• “Moria Gate”
A reproduction of J.R.R. Tolkien’s own artwork depicting the dramatic entrance to Moria. The lower attribution reads: “Illustration by J. R. R. Tolkien. © George Allen & Unwin, Ltd., 1954, 1955, 1966.”
Both pieces have been preserved behind glass in coordinating vintage wood-tone frames and make an especially attractive pair for a Tolkien, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings or Middle-earth collection.
The frames have not been opened or disassembled; therefore, the exact age, printing, edition, origin, and any markings or information that may be concealed behind the artwork have not been independently verified. All descriptions and dates provided are based solely on the artwork, copyright information, and other details visible beneath the glass.
Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related wear to the frames, matting and/or prints consistent with their age and previous display. The Bilbo map mat has a noticeable dark mark/discoloration toward the lower left, visible in the photographs. Glass may show reflections, dust or minor surface wear, or glass shifting. Please review all photographs closely as they are an important part of the condition description.
Important dating note: Dates printed on the artwork are publisher/copyright attribution dates. The exact printing date of these particular smaller-format framed examples has not been independently verified, and they are being offered as vintage Tolkien prints rather than represented as first-edition/full-size poster printings.
A distinctive vintage Tolkien display set featuring two of the most recognizable elements of Middle-earth: Bilbo’s journey through Eriador and Rhovanion and Tolkien’s own vision of the Gate of Moria.
Sold as a set of 2 framed pieces.
