Vintage J. Lovato Sterling Kachina Inlay Mother of Pearl Pin Pendant Necklace For Sale

This vintage pin and pendant is signed by Julian Lovato (1922–2018), a renowned Kewa (Santo Domingo) Pueblo silversmith known as the \"Keeper of the Thunderbird.\" After years as chief silversmith at Frank Patania\'s famed Thunderbird Shop in Santa Fe, Lovato was entrusted with the shop\'s Thunderbird hallmark when it closed in 1964, and he proudly stamped it beside his own name, as seen on this piece. The large oval pendant features a hand-inlaid Kachina dancer on luminous mother of pearl, framed in a substantial sterling bezel and hung from a chunky sterling link chain.
