Vintage Inverness Country Club Championship Golf Blazer Buttons:
$24.42

This pair of vintage blazer buttons features the official Inverness Club crest, displaying a heraldic shield topped by a royal crown. The shield's quadrants show crossed golf clubs, a championship chalice, an evergreen pine tree, and water hazard lines. Supported below by a scroll banner inscribed "INVERNESS" and a laurel branch wreath, these heavy-duty two-piece metal buttons combine a silver-tone faceplate with a polished gold-plated brass backing, accented with dark antiqued shading. Each large button measures approximately 22 to 23mm in diameter and features a convex, gold-plated reverse cap and a wire loop shank. One retains a fragment of original blue garment fabric. Condition is excellent, with sharp engraving, natural patinas, and no structural distortion. These buttons originate from the historic Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, established in 1903 and renowned for hosting four U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships, and the Solheim Cup. The faceplate illustrates the course's identity: crossed golf clubs reflecting Scottish roots, pine and water lines referencing Ohio's landscape, and the chalice honoring legendary trophies. The darkened silver finish with a gold backing enhances their premium look. The reverse shanks are crafted to allow the heavy metal to sit prominently. One button still has a piece of original blue fabric attached.Ideal for collectors, historical clothing curators, or restoration projects, these buttons embody a significant chapter in American golf history.
