Up for sale is a beautiful vintage mid-century ceramic centerpiece candle holder and planter bowl manufactured for INARCO (International Artware Corporation) during the 1960s.
This piece is part of their highly collectible and elegantly styled Elegante line, specifically carrying the model registry number E-2989 on the underside base.
Designed to mimic classical European Capodimonte and Baroque art pottery, this long table centerpiece features a heavy, ornate relief mold. The exterior is detailed with sculpted scrolls, acanthus leaves and small floral accents. The piece boasts a beautiful ivory or off-white glazed finish, elegantly enhanced by deep brown antiquing embedded within the crevices to emphasize its architectural depth.
A highly unique and functional highlight of this design is the set of built-in circular cutouts or holes placed seamlessly into the decorative top trim. These openings act as multi-functional features, historically used to secure tapered candlesticks or hold single floral stems alongside a main flower arrangement or floral frog grouping inside the central basin.
Condition Notes:This item is in excellent vintage condition with no major chips, cracks, repairs, or structural issues. The original bottom stamp is crisp and perfectly legible with its black globe icon and sequential E-2989 code identifier. There may be minor age-related shelf wear, light crazing to the glaze under close inspection, or faint discoloration on the unglazed footing ring, which is completely expected and typical for mid-century Japanese imported ceramics of this era.
