Vintage Imperial Mexico 2 Blade Deer Head Stag Embossed Pocket Knife Long Bail For Sale

Vintage 2-blade folding jack pocket knife manufactured by Cuchilleria Imperial Mexico. This highly collectible piece represents a short-lived international mid-century manufacturing venture established by the Imperial Knife Company. The base of the clip point master blade features a deep, clear three-line stamp reading "IMPERIAL / HECHO EN / MEXICO" which dates this historical piece to the late 1950s.

The pocket knife features beautifully molded cream and pink plastic celluloid handle scales accented with an embossed buck deer head trophy scene on both sides. Based on the measurements shown against the ruler, the knife has a closed length of approximately 3.25 inches. It houses two folding carbon steel implements: a master clip point blade measuring approximately 2.75 inches and a secondary spear point pen blade measuring approximately 2.25 inches. A factory steel lanyard bail loop is securely attached to the rear bolster pin.

The item is in solid, fully functional vintage condition. The molded celluloid deer scene handles are beautifully preserved with crisp molded details, rich color contrast, and no structural cracks or major shrinkage gaps along the liners. Both carbon steel blades exhibit an authentic, uncleaned dark gray age patina with widespread surface pocket tarnish, minor pitting, and small spots of superficial orange rust that could be easily lifted with minor conservation. Mechanically, the knife functions exceptionally well as the blades do have snap. There is excellent, tight tension on the backspring with a highly pronounced, solid snap upon opening and closing, and the swivel bail rotates smoothly.
