This is a beautiful, authentic vintage ceramic art tile hand-crafted by the renowned Ikaros Pottery workshop in Rhodes, Greece. The front features an exquisite, vibrant hand-painted depiction of a traditional Mediterranean sailing vessel (trireme/ship) traversing stylized blue waves. The design is heavily influenced by historic Iznik and Lindos floral and maritime motifs, incorporating bold coral reds, cobalt blues, emerald greens, and a distinct grey sail.The reverse side features the authentic, incised maker's mark hand-etched directly into the clay, reading: “HAND MADE IN RHODES GREECE BY IKAROS POTTERY.”Ikaros Pottery ceased all operations in 1988, making their mid-century hand-painted ceramics highly sought after by collectors of Greek art, Mediterranean pottery, and mid-century decor.
