Beautiful handmade wooden baby cradle, built by a grandfather, father, and uncle for their family around 1984–1985.
This wasn't a mass-produced piece—it was lovingly made by family and went on to cradle many newborn babies over the years. The underside is hand-inscribed “1985” along with the names/initials Dale, Dave and RL, preserving part of its history.
Features beautiful solid wood construction, gently scalloped sides, heart-shaped/cutout carrying handles, and traditional curved rocker feet. Includes the mattress/cushion shown.
Approximate measurements from photos:
• 32" long
• 16–17" wide
• 16–17" high at the sides
It does show normal wear, scratches and marks from age and decades of family use, which I think only adds to the character of a handmade heirloom like this.
Please see photos for condition.
This would be beautiful as a family keepsake, nursery display, photography prop, blanket/toy holder, or decorative vintage cradle. Because it is a vintage handmade piece, I would sell it as décor/collectible rather than representing it as meeting current infant-sleep safety standards.
