Striking oversized vintage Mexican folk art wall plate/platter from Acapulco, Mexico.
This impressive piece measures approximately 16 inches in diameter and 1.75 inches deep. It features a wonderfully bold hand-painted floral style.
The palette is especially eye-catching, with a brilliant blue ground accented in purple, white. yellow, green., turquoise, pink, and purple. It has a multi floral with a grape center piece.
The reverse is unglazed natural earthenware and includes a raised clay hanging point indicating that the piece was intended for decorative wall display.
Approximate measurements:
16” diameter
1.75” deep
Condition:
Good vintage condition with little to wear. The back shows normal irregularities and wear associated with handmade pottery. I do not see any cracks or repaired breaks, one small scratch that is only noticible in close examination.
It is signed on back side. See photo.
