Vintage Hand Carved 6" African Wood Female Bust Sculpture Tribal Art For Sale

This vintage hand-carved African female portrait bust stands 6 inches tall and is meticulously sculpted from a single block of polished tropical hardwood. Dating to the mid-century export boom of the 1960s to 1970s, the sculpture showcases a striking, high-swept crest coiffure detailed with deep vertical chiseled ridges that naturally retain their original dark finishing wax deep within the grooves. A standout feature of this specific folk art piece is its original mixed-media adornments, featuring symmetrical coiled brass wire spiral earrings suspended from dark metallic dome studs that pass completely through the lobes. The raw, unpolished underside reveals authentic hand-chiseled plane lines alongside an original hand-painted green workshop inventory mark reading #45. Structurally secure with a gorgeous aged luster, the bust displays an authentic vintage patina, including a thin, age-appropriate hairline drying split on the right cheek, while the opposite profile remains completely smooth and split-free.
