Vintage Griswold No 8 (704S) Cast Iron Skillet Restored Condition For Sale

This is a nice example of aGriswold No 8 skillet with the small Block logo. This series of skillets wasproduced during the war years, 1939-1944, as was the first series that featuredthe "small logo" design. The cooking surface has patches of fine etching from corrosiontowards the outer edges and utensil scores. These are almost undetectableas you glide your fingers over a very smooth surface.One sheet of printer paper slipped under one side of the pan stopsmovement on a polished granite surface.No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin.

This item was stripped down to baremetal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. Thisprocess ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe touse once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for1 hour. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight finedetails. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color.Items are much darker under normal light.
