This is a lovely piece. The sticker says it\'s 24% lead. Western Germany. It\'s about 2.5\" long and 1.5\" tall. From Google: - True Crystal Standard: In Europe and the international glassware industry, 24% PbO is the minimum threshold required to legally or technically label glass as \"genuine lead crystal\".
- Visual and Physical Qualities: Adding lead oxide increases the glass\'s density, making it heavier, giving it a bright \"ping\" sound when tapped, and enhancing its ability to refract light into sparkling rainbows. It also makes the soft glass easier for artisans to cut and polish.
Safety and Use - Short-Term Use: Drinking wine, water, or spirits from 24% PbO crystal glasses during a meal or evening is safe because the liquid only touches the glass for a short time.
