Add an exquisite splash of Depression-era sophistication to your glassware collection with this vintage Fostoria Azure Blue divided relish dish. Crafted in the highly coveted June pattern (Etch No. 279), this piece is rendered in a beautiful, luminous light blue glass that glows beautifully under direct light. The dish is intricately detailed with Fostoria's signature acid-etched design of flowing ribbons, delicate bows, and overflowing floral baskets cascading along the interior walls.
Founded in 1887 in Fostoria, Ohio, before relocating its factories to Moundsville, West Virginia, the Fostoria Glass Company was one of America's premier producers of elegant glassware. Unlike standard machine-pressed Depression glass, Fostoria utilized hand-blown blanks and meticulous acid etching techniques. The beloved June pattern was introduced in 1928 and remained a top-tier bridal registry favorite until it was discontinued in 1944, symbolizing the peak of American table elegance during a historic era.
This elegant oval dish features a distinct geometric decagon rim and a solid central glass partition that splits the vessel into two equal-sized serving compartments. Measuring approximately 8.5 to 9 inches long, it is built on the classic Fairfax 2375 blank line. It serves as a beautiful accent tray for serving condiments, nuts, pickles, or candies, and functions just as beautifully as a vanity catchall or jewelry organizer.
