Vintage Finck's “Detroit Special” Overalls Pig Advertising Porcelain Enamel Sign – 9” x 12”
This vintage Finck's “Detroit Special” Overalls pig advertising porcelain enamel sign is in excellent condition. I purchased it at a country store in Vermont, and it hung in my own kitchen beginning in 1981, along with other country store advertising pieces. The colors are bold and rich: Bright red and navy blue, with cream-colored lettering and border. Printed on the pig’s body are the words “Wear Like a Pigs Nose.” Union Made is written under the pig’s belly. There are rivets on the corners, making it easy to hang. It is a heavy-duty, clean item.
There is no rust, dents, chips, warping, or any other damage to the front of this beautiful sign. The back has pits created in the manufacture, where a backing was applied to the metal. (see photo)
