Up for sale is a highly collectible vintage post-WWII table top lighter shaped like a Cornucopia (Horn of Plenty). This elegant piece features a heavy cast metal body with an ornate floral repousse design along the rim and base. The removable lighter insert sits in a gorgeous hammered gold-tone well. The bottom of the inner well features a clear, authentic historical stamp:
"MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN" along with the iconic Phoenix/Eagle factory hallmark. This strictly dates the manufacturing of this piece between 1945 and 1952 during the Allied occupation of Japan.Cosmetic Condition:
Good antique/vintage condition with honest signs of age and display. The silver-tone finish shows an authentic aged patina, pocket/surface scratches, and some light pitting/tarnish spots as expected from a true 1940s estate find. No major dents or structural cracks. Mechanical Condition:
The push-lever mechanism functions properly and moves smoothly. Please note: IT DOES NOT CURRENTLY SPARK. It is currently missing the flint and will require a standard flint replacement to generate a spark. Please Note:
The lighter is sold completely UNFILLED and DRY due to postal shipping regulations. It is untested with fluid and sold "as-found". Perfect project piece for restoration or an outstanding addition to any Occupied Japan or vintage tobacciana collection. Please review all high-resolution photos carefully to evaluate the exact cosmetic condition before purchasing.
