Vintage Ethiopian Orthodox Hand-Painted Icon
Annunciation & Nativity Scenes – Traditional Religious Art
This beautiful vintage Ethiopian Orthodox icon is a handcrafted religious painting on wood, created in the traditional style. The artwork is divided into two panels, each illustrating an important biblical event.
The upper panel depicts the Annunciation, where the Angel Gabriel appears to the Virgin Mary. The lower panel portrays the Nativity scene, showing the birth of Jesus Christ with Mary, Joseph, and symbolic animals.
The composition is completed with an angelic (seraph) figure at the base, adding depth and spiritual symbolism to the piece. The icon features bold colors, expressive faces, and traditional Ethiopian artistic techniques passed down through generations.
