The piece has a classic Art Deco / Machine Age appearance, with a tall rectangular body, substantial stepped base, and a hinged upper compartment. The dramatic swirling marbled material makes this an especially attractive display piece.
The removable metal petrol/liquid-fuel lighter insert is marked:

The lighter uses a traditional wick and lighter-fluid/petrol system. The lighter insert can be removed from the stand, as shown in the photographs.
The hinged upper section opens to reveal an interior compartment, making this an interesting combination table lighter and smoking accessory/stand.

The marbled material has the appearance of vintage Bakelite/Catalin-type phenolic plastic; however, the material has not been tested, so no guarantee is made regarding its exact composition.
Condition
Good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface scratches, scuffs, wear and marks. The metal lighter insert also shows scratches and normal signs of use. Please review all photographs carefully for the exact cosmetic condition.
