Vintage Early Wood Jointer\'s / Carpenter\'s Sheffield BraceThis is a vintage Unplated Sheffield Style Brace. This example is not marked with a maker\'s name. The brass chuck is marked \"26\". It is made of Beech wood and measures approximately 14\" long from end to end. I rate this wood brace in FAIR CONDITION overall. It has not been cleaned. The brass button is missing from the chuck. The wood head is not original, but was replaced many many years ago. The wood has nice patina. Still, an interesting example of an early wood Sheffield style brace for you to add to your antique tool collection!
