Here we have aVintage E. C. SIMMONS KEEN KUTTER No. K88 Crosscut 26\"L Hand Saw, 1920s -1930s.KeenKutter is a trade name first used by Simmons Hardware Company of St. Louis,Missouri in 1866. The name was adopted as a trademark by Simmons HardwareCompany in 1870 and was used on their highest quality tools and cutlery. It has been reported that the Keen Kutter line of saws were primarily manufactured by H. Disston, in Phila, PA. The reports include that this Sway-Back handsaw it very similar to Disston\'s No. 16 saws in style and quality.
This 7 TPI crosscut blade on this saw is in Very good \'used tool\' condition with minor stains on the blade. I don\'t see any broken or chipped teeth.Blade is sharp and straight. There is a very nice Keen Kutter etching on the blade. The applewood handle has the normal minor wear to the majority of the surface, but there is also a shallow chip off the underside of the top horn. The handle is tightly attached to the blade using 4 nickel-plated brass saw nuts. The medallion nut has the KEEN KUTTER logo. Overall sawlength is approx. 29.5\".
