Up for sale is an authentic, vintage clear glass replacement lantern globe manufactured by the historic R.E. Dietz Company in Syracuse, New York.
This globe stands exactly 6-1/2 inches tall and features the patented LOC-NOB safety ears molded into the side profiles to keep the glass securely locked within the lantern frame during use.
EMBOSSED MARKINGS:
- Front: "DIETZ" (inside the classic oval logo) / "FITZALL" / "N.Y. U.S.A."
- Reverse: "6H" (Factory batch tracking/mold cavity code) / "LOC-NOB" / "REGD IN U.S.A."
★ COLLECTOR NOTE / UNIQUE VARIANT ★
This specific globe features a wonderful factory mold alignment quirk. Due to a subtle shift or thermal expansion in the heavy factory iron molds when it was pressed, the front lettering features a distinct wide spacing gap, presenting uniquely as "FIT ZALL". A great, charming piece of mid-century industrial 6.5-inch short-globe profile fits standard compact/small-frame vintage tubular lanterns, including:
- Dietz Little Wizard & No. 1 Little Wizard
- Dietz Little Giant
- Embury No. 1 Little vintage condition. The glass is clear, structural seams and LOC-NOB ears are completely intact, and the embossed lettering is crisp and readable. No major cracks. (Please see all listing photos featuring the tape measure to confirm dimensions match your lantern frame).
SHIPPING & HANDLING:
